Many find it difficult to remain positive in a negative world. We are faced with many challenges that can cripple your outlook on life. Reality can be the number one force that is holding you back. Developing a positive mindset is crucial if you plan to accomplish anything in life. Here are five ways to develop a positive mindset

Evaluate Your Circle

“You’re only as strong as the people you surround yourself with.” That is a very true statement. The people closest to you are often the ones that have the most influence in your life. Those in your circle should be speaking life to your situations, encouraging you, and helping stay lifted in this negative world. This is not always true for everyone. Normally these people are the first to tear down your dreams, goals, and ideas. You must be cautious of these types of people. You will often bend towards their influence because you are emotionally tied to them. Look at the people around you and decide whether or not if they should be there. Your mindset would dramatically improve if you replaced the dead weight with positive inspiring people.

Be Thankful In The Morning

Do you often think about your problems after waking up? Most of us do. Try waking up and focusing on five things you are thankful for. This will help you start your day off with clarity and focus instead of uncertainty and worry. You are more likely to succeed if you have a positive mindset. Being thankful allows you to stay in a positive realm due to the fact that it could always be worse. Reflecting on what you have rather than what you do not have is always a way to improve your mindset. So just simply be thankful.

Exercise Your Faith

A lot of times we find it difficult to keep a positive mindset because of our current situation. Ironically, we are doing absolutely nothing to change it. If you have dreams and goals you must exercise your faith and take a leap toward your destiny. This will help your mindset because you are slowly becoming who God intended you to be. Your current situation may still be the same. But most importantly you have changed inside of your situation.

Change Your Perception

The way we perceive things, people or situations can have a huge impact on our thinking. You should view all challenges in life as an opportunity to learn and become stronger. Nothing bad was meant to break us. It was only intended to strengthen us. Look at your current situation and ask yourself. “What is God trying to teach me?” You must change the way hard situations are viewed. A boxer does not look at his trainer as trying to kill him. He views his trainer as trying to make him the best he could be. Change your perception.

Think Positively

Make the choice to think positively. Developing a positive mindset is not going to be easy. You must make a decision to surround yourself with positive like minded people and not to focus on the negative aspects of your life. It is easy to focus on what could have been and how things could be. But most will find it even easier to focus on how good things are. The choice is yours! I hope you find these tips useful in your quest on obtaining a positive mindset.

Thank you so much for this! It is truly “mind over matter”. Not only are we to be physically fit, we need to be spiritually and emotionally fit as well. Having a good support system really makes a difference. I love the fact that you always acknowledge a higher power…God…in everything that you do. I appreciate you and your words of encouragement.
